(03)The Story

Belgium to the UK. 130 KM by kite.

In the summer of 2025, three young Belgians from Offshore became the first Belgians ever to cross the North Sea by kite, completing a 130 km, 5-hour open-water journey from Zeebrugge to the UK.

The crossing proved a model: pair an audacious sporting challenge with a clear cause and a brand story strong enough to carry it. Offshore VZW was founded on the back of this expedition.

(06)The Route
Route map: Knokke, Belgium to Margate, UK across the North Sea

A straight line across open water.

Plotted with tides, wind windows, and shipping lanes in mind. Shadowed by a support boat with our safety team to help with the navigation and provide fuel throughout the crossing.

(07)The Impact

Clean water for Tsiandamba.

Our crossing was not the end of the story — it was the beginning of a sustainable impact journey for Tsiandamba. Through storytelling, national media coverage and social impact partnerships, the campaign connected adventure with purpose.

Our partner CWater now runs monthly 3-day water missions, filtering 15.000 liters of seawater into safe drinking water for the village — immediate relief, and the foundation for a lasting solution.

Thanks to the North Sea Crossing campaign, we funded a full water-cleaning system, a generator to power the units, and new water-storage solutions — helping 2.000 people through the dry season.
